In 2025, China's apple production is expected to decrease by approximately 5% to 10%.

The forecast for major apple-producing regions in China indicates varied outcomes: Shanxi is anticipated to see a 15% increase, while Shaanxi and Gansu are likely to experience a 10% reduction each. The production in Shandong and Northeast China is expected to remain stable, while the Southwest region is projected to face a 10% decline. Xinjiang is expected to suffer a significant drop of around 20%.

This year, the western regions have been affected by the most severe drought, high winds, and dust storms in nearly a decade, leading to a rare combination of heat, dryness, and wind that has severely impacted apple pollination and fertilization. As a result, the fruit set rate is low and fruit quality is poor, leading to an overall decrease in marketable fruit and an increase in the proportion of processing fruit.

Industry predictions suggest that the concentrated apple juice production in 2025 will reach around 450,000 to 500,000 tons.
